The recipient was announced in front of nearly 1,000 teachers at the national summit in Indianapolis. Jeanine Hall, a science teacher at Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose, received what’s considered the highest recognition given to the program’s Biomedical Science educators.
“We are proud to work with outstanding educators across the country who are inspiring and empowering our students to develop in-demand knowledge and skills,” said PLTW President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Vince Bertram. “Jeanine Hall is an exemplary teacher, and we are proud to recognize her for her commitment to students.”
The Teacher of the Year award is based on merit and is a “reflection of Hall’s strong alignment to PLTW’s mission.”
PLTW is a nonprofit organization that offers a transformative learning experience for pre-k to 12th-grade students and teachers across the country.
“Her efforts have garnered the high school local, state and national recognition,” said Hendrick Hudson High School principal James Mackin in regards to Hall’s award. “It is only fitting that she is receiving the recognition she so richly deserves.”
